Carlecia is an ACC path trained coach that leverages coaching with her over 20 years leadership and entrepreneurship development experience to help clients discover a path to meaningful, lasting change in their lives, careers, and businesses. From the halls of academia, government, and business enterprises big and small, Carlecia works with clients who long to make big leaps in their lives and careers. Whether they are looking to move up, move on or move over, Carlecia uses curiosity, creativity, and collaboration to support her clients in the discovery of their infinite possibilities.
Carlecia has received training from Envision Global Leadership and is a member of the International Coach Federation and the Houston Charter Chapter of ICF. Additionally, Carlecia has tactical skills in Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Leadership and Organizational Development, along with Business Development & Sales, and Community & Government Affairs. Additionally, she is an award-winning negotiator, as well as an experienced mediator, facilitator, and business mentor.
Carlecia currently serves as the Chief Diversity Officer for Lone Star College, in Houston, Texas where she leads the college’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion approach. Previously, she was a Mayoral appointed Department Director for the City of Houston where she oversaw the Department of Business Opportunity and served as the city’s Chief Diversity Officer responsible for leading affirmative action and civil rights policies.
She has a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College of Chicago and a Master’s Degree from New York University’s Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service. Carlecia holds various certifications in leadership development, coaching and facilitation including Gallup Strengths and Talent Builder Coach, Crucial Conversations Master Trainer, Cultural Intelligence Trainer, Collective Impact, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Professional.
